Overview
The Manipur frog, Euphlyctis ghoshi (sometimes called Ghosh's frog), is a poorly documented amphibian described from northeastern India. The species is currently known only from its type locality in the Khugairk Reserve Forest in the state of Manipur. It belongs to the genus Euphlyctis, a group of mainly aquatic or semi-aquatic frogs found across parts of South and Southeast Asia.

E. ghoshi was identified and named from a limited set of specimens collected at the type locality. Because records are few, its relationships within the genus have been inferred from general anatomical features typical of Euphlyctis rather than from broad population studies. The original description remains the primary taxonomic source.
Description
Detailed morphological and behavioral descriptions are limited. Frogs in the genus typically have a robust, somewhat flattened body, smooth skin, strong hind limbs and partially webbed feet adapted for swimming. Coloration in related species commonly ranges from olive-brown to gray with darker patterns; E. ghoshi is assumed to share similar traits until more specimens and observations are available. Information on calls, breeding timing and larval stages is lacking.
Distribution, habitat and ecology
All confirmed records come from the Khugairk Reserve Forest, indicating a very restricted known range. Euphlyctis species generally occupy ponds, slow streams, marshes and flooded agricultural areas; they feed on insects and other invertebrates and link aquatic and terrestrial food webs. The specific habitat preferences and seasonal movements of E. ghoshi remain to be documented by field studies.

Because the species is known from few specimens and localities, its conservation status is uncertain and may be assessed as data deficient until surveys provide more information.
