Overview
Fenella Fielding (17 November 1927 – 11 September 2018) was an English stage, film and television actress celebrated for a distinctive husky voice, glamorous stage presence and an often saucy comic persona. Prominent in the 1950s and 1960s, she became popularly associated with the cheeky, innuendo-driven humour of postwar British entertainment and was widely described in the press as "England's first lady of the double entendre." Her career spanned repertory theatre, West End revues, radio, television and film, and she continued to work in character roles into later life.

Fielding was born in London and began her acting work in repertory companies and theatrical training that prepared her for a range of stage roles.
