Felix Chen (1942–2018) was a Taiwanese conductor and Music Director of the Taipei Symphony Orchestra (1986–2003), known for staging major operas and shaping Taiwan’s classical scene; his 2003 departure drew controversy.

Career
Chen was the resident conductor and served as Music Director of the Taipei Symphony Orchestra from 1986 until he left the post in 2003. His departure came after a period of disagreement and controversy that attracted public attention.
During his time with the orchestra, Chen oversaw regular staged opera projects, typically presenting one or two full productions each year. Felix Chen died on 9 April 2018 in Taipei. He was 75 years old. The cause of death was reported as liver failure.
