Cinematic Sunrise
Cinematic Sunrise was a pop punk/pop rock band from Detroit, Michigan, United States.
History
Cinematic Sunrise was formed at the turn of the year from 2005 to 2006 as a side project of Chiodos vocalist Craig Owens and keyboardist Bradley Bell in Detroit, Michigan. The two guitarists Nick Martin and Bryan Beeler, bassist Marcus VanKirk and drummer Dave Shapiro joined as additional musicians.
On May 13, 2008, the band's only production, an EP titled A Coloring Storybook and Long Playing Record, was released via Equal Vision Records. This reached a position in the official US charts, where the EP, however, could only hold for one week. The EP was reissued by Equal Vision Records in October 2008, as the initial run of 10,000 copies sold out. The first edition of the EP came with four crayons and a coloring book. The first edition was only available at Hot Topic and through Merchnow.
Due to several line-up changes, Beeler was the only remaining founding member of the group until the band's demise in 2009. During a tour of the group in May 2008, Vic Fuentes was unceremoniously integrated into the group as a second guitarist.
Music style
Compared to Chiodos, which belongs to the post-hardcore genre, Cinematic Sunrise played a mixture of pop-punk and pop-rock with friendlier lyrics than Chiodos.
