Ceratosaurus is a genus of predatory dinosaur that lived during the Late (Upper) Jurassic, roughly 156–145 million years ago. First named by O. C. Marsh in 1884, it is best known from fossils recovered from the Morrison Formation of western North America. Its combination of a single midline nasal horn, paired brow projections, and rows of small osteoderms set it apart from many contemporaneous theropods.
