Overview
Basin is a small incorporated town in northwestern Wyoming that serves as the county seat of Big Horn County. It lies in the broad Bighorn Basin region near the Big Horn River and functions as a local hub for government, services and commerce for surrounding ranching and farming communities. The town recorded 1,285 residents at the 2010 U.S. census and covers roughly 2.0 square miles, about 0.04 square miles of which is water (approximately 1.47%).
