Louis Alphonse van Gasteren (20 November 1922 – 10 May 2016) was a Dutch filmmaker, producer and visual artist whose career spanned more than six decades. Born and based in Amsterdam, he became notable within the Netherlands for a body of work that blended documentary investigation, personal reflection and experimental techniques. He remained active into advanced age and was widely described as the oldest working filmmaker in the country at the time of his death.
