The Algerian seal was introduced in this form in 1976.
In the center of this seal is the hand of Fatima surrounded by three ears of grain. Below it, in red, is the symbol of Islam, the crescent moon and star. Behind the hand is the Atlas Mountains, behind which the sun rises. To the right and left of the hand are a factory and plants. Surrounding the seal is the state name in Arabic script.
