Career

Campos rose through political ranks beginning in state politics and moving to national prominence. He was widely regarded as a pragmatic center-left politician who emphasized modernization and administrative reform. His public roles included the following offices and appointments:

On 13 August 2014, Campos died in an airplane crash near the coastal city of Santos in the state of São Paulo.
