Okiharu Yasuoka (1939–2019) — Japanese lawyer and politician

Early life and background

Yasuoka was born in Chiyoda, Tokyo on 11 May 1939 and spent part of his youth in Kagoshima Prefecture. Trained in the law, he combined legal practice with a political career, bringing legal experience to debates on legislation, judicial matters and administrative policy during his time in the Diet.

Political career
