Neil deGrasse Tyson (born October 5, 1958) is an American astrophysicist, author, and prominent science communicator. He is the Frederick P. Rose Director of the Hayden Planetarium at the Rose Center for Earth and Space and a research associate in the department of astrophysics at the American Museum of Natural History. His name is pronounced differently in the US and the UK.
Early life and education
Tyson was born in the borough of Manhattan in New York City, New York. He attended The Bronx High School of Science. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Physics from Harvard University, and later completed his doctoral studies in astrophysics at Columbia University.
Personal life
Tyson resides in Lower Manhattan with his wife and their two children.
Allegations of misconduct
In December 2018, several women came forward with accusations of sexual misconduct involving Tyson. He denied engaging in the behavior described. Fox and other organizations, including National Geographic, announced that they would conduct internal reviews of the claims.
