Kurdamir District (Kürdəmir)

Geography and climate

The district lies on lowland plains that form part of Azerbaijan's central agricultural belt. Soils and flat terrain support field crops and orchards; irrigation systems have been developed in places to offset a generally dry, continental climate with hot summers and comparatively mild winters.
