Overview

The Davao Region, officially referred to as Region XI, is an administrative region in the southern Philippines. Its regional center and largest city is Davao City, a major urban, commercial and cultural hub on the island of Mindanao. The region serves as a gateway between inland agricultural zones and international shipping lanes.

Davao Region sits on the southeastern side of Mindanao and includes a mix of coastal plains, mountain ranges and island coastlines along the Davao Gulf.
