Coat of arms of Morocco
The current national coat of arms of Morocco (actually royal coat of arms) was adopted on August 14, 1957, when Mohammed V was proclaimed King of Morocco. It was designed by the graphic artists Gauthier and Hainaut and shows a green pentagram on red in front of the Atlas Mountains and a rising sun. Above is the royal crown. Two lions act as shield holders. On the ribbon below is the Arabic inscription: If you assist God, He will also assist you (Koran, verse 7, sura 47).
