Eugenio Derbez (born Eugenio González Derbez on September 2, 1961) is a Mexican actor, comedian, writer and director who became one of the best-known entertainment figures to emerge from Mexico into international film and television. He first gained national prominence in his home city of Mexico City and later expanded his career across Mexico and the United States.

Early career and television work

Derbez began his career on Mexican television, performing in sketch comedy and variety programs before creating and starring in several long-running sitcoms.
