William Alexander Gadsby (August 8, 1927 – March 10, 2016) was a Canadian-born professional ice hockey player who spent his career as a defenceman in the National Hockey League. He held Canadian nationality throughout his life (Canadian).

Playing career

Gadsby played at the top level of the sport for multiple NHL clubs. His club career included spells with the Chicago Black Hawks, the New York Rangers, and the Detroit Red Wings.

Early life and death

He was born in Calgary, in the province of Alberta, in 1927. Gadsby passed away in Farmington Hills, Michigan, on March 10, 2016, at the age of 88.
