Valdallière — commune nouvelle in Calvados, Normandy

Formation and administrative structure

Valdallière was established on 1 January 2016 as a "commune nouvelle", a form of municipal consolidation promoted in recent French territorial reform to combine small communes for administrative efficiency. Its central administration is located in Vassy, which serves as the municipal seat. The consolidation brought together neighbouring rural communities under a common mayor and council while preserving local identities through delegated town halls and identity markers.
