Six Flags Great Adventure is a large theme park and animal reserve located in Jackson Township, New Jersey, United States. It opened on July 4, 1974 and has expanded over decades into a multi-part leisure complex that combines thrill rides, family attractions and an on-site safari. Additional animal exhibits and educational presentations are available on foot in adjacent areas.

Water park, family areas and visitor experience

Hurricane Harbor, the water-park component of the complex, occupies a substantial parcel of land and is reported to cover dozens of acres on its own (Hurricane Harbor). The overall property features dedicated children's areas—three separate playground and gentle-ride zones tailored to younger visitors—plus a mix of more than 200 rides and attractions across all park sections.
