Pnau
Pnau is an Australian electropop duo from Sydney.
Band History
In the mid-1990s, school friends Nick Littlemore and Peter Mayes joined forces and followed the acid house and trance wave under the name Pnau. They had their first success in the Australian charts in 2000 with their debut album Sambanova. They even won an ARIA Award for the best dance release of the year. With their second release Again they couldn't follow up three years later, but with the album Pnau they returned to success in 2007 and had their only solo single hit so far with the single Baby.
Besides the Pnau project, both musicians are also active with other artists. Nick Littlemore, for example, founded the internationally successful pop duo Empire of the Sun with singer Luke Steele. Another successful collaboration of the two Pnau musicians with the English pop star Elton John led to the album Good Morning to the Night in 2012, in which the Australians sampled and remixed Elton John songs. It reached number one in the British charts.
In the following year, the two French DJs Faul & Wad Ad used her hit single Baby and turned it into the song Changes with a saxophone interlude. They were particularly successful in German-speaking countries and even reached the top of the charts in Germany in December 2013.
