North Eleuthera is a district of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, occupying the northern portion of the island of Eleuthera. The district covers coastal and inland areas at the top end of the island and is administered as one of the country’s local government districts.

Location

The district lies in the Atlantic Ocean to the east of the Bahamian archipelago. Its approximate geographical position is given by the following coordinates: 25°28′N, 76°41′W (decimal: 25.467°N, 76.683°W).

Transport and access

North Eleuthera is served by North Eleuthera Airport, which provides the main air connection to other islands and to the Bahamian capital. Sea links to neighbouring islands and local ferry services are also used for travel and transport of goods.
