Kalmthout is a municipality in northern Belgium located in the province of Antwerp. It forms part of the Flemish Region of Belgium and combines small-town residential areas with extensive open heathland and woodland. Official coordinates are given as 51° 23′ North, 04° 28′ East. In 2007 the population was recorded at about 17,504 inhabitants; more recent figures vary with local growth and commuting patterns.
