Joseph William Ashton OBE (9 October 1933 – 30 March 2020), usually known as Joe Ashton, was a British Labour Party politician. He was a Member of Parliament from 1968 to 2001 representing Bassetlaw. He was born in Sheffield, West Riding of Yorkshire. In 2007, Ashton was appointed an OBE.
Ashton died on 30 March 2020, aged 86.
