Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts

Construction and engineering

Site constraints influenced the engineering approach: the theatre occupies a central urban block and sits above a subway line. Engineers employed structural isolation and vibration-control measures so that underground trains do not intrude on performances. The house provides comfortable seating for approximately two thousand patrons and a stage complex adapted for large-scale opera and ballet. Notable features include:
