Administrative change

On 1 January 2009 Fleurier ceased to exist as an independent municipality when it merged with neighbouring communes to form a larger municipal entity. The communes that joined in the reorganisation were:

• Boveresse
• Buttes
• Couvet
• Fleurier
• Les Bayards
• Môtiers
• Noiraigue
• Saint-Sulpice
• Travers

These communities were combined administratively into the new municipality of Val-de-Travers, a move intended to streamline local government and pool resources for services.
