Hanna Stanisława Suchocka [ˈxanna suˈxɔt͡ska] (born 3 April 1946) is a Polish lawyer and politician.
Academic work
Suchocka has an academic background in constitutional law. She served as a professor at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, where she led the department responsible for constitutional studies.
Prime ministership
She held the office of Prime Minister of Poland from 8 July 1992 to 26 October 1993. Her government operated during the presidency of Lech Wałęsa. Suchocka was the first woman to serve as Poland’s prime minister.
