Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa (born 17 November 1952) is a South African politician who has served as the fifth President of South Africa since 14 February 2018, when he succeeded Jacob Zuma. Ramaphosa began public life as a student activist and went on to help build some of South Africa’s largest labour organisations.
