Bryan Jay Singer (born September 17, 1965) is an American film-maker who has worked as a movie director, producer and screenwriter. He gained attention with the crime thriller The Usual Suspects and later became widely known for directing installments of the X-Men series and the feature Superman Returns. Among his industry recognitions is a Saturn Award.
Early life and education
Singer was born in New York City on September 17, 1965. He was adopted as an infant and grew up in West Windsor Township, New Jersey. For his secondary education he attended West Windsor–Plainsboro High School South. He later studied art and filmmaking at the School of Visual Arts and completed further film studies at the USC School of Cinematic Arts in Los Angeles.
