Robert Urich (December 19, 1946 – April 16, 2002) was an American actor whose career spanned television, film and theatre. Born in Toronto, Ohio, he became widely recognized for portraying tough, resourceful lead characters—most famously a private investigator in the 1980s. His work made him a familiar face on network television for three decades.
