Overview
Pennsylvania Route 274 (PA 274) is an east–west state highway located in south-central Pennsylvania. The route extends about 44 miles (71 kilometers) across primarily rural areas of Franklin and Perry counties, providing a local arterial connection between small towns, agricultural areas, and larger north–south highways. Its western terminus is at Pennsylvania Route 75 in Fannett Township, and its eastern end meets US 11/US 15 at Duncannon.
Route description
Throughout most of its length PA 274 is a two‑lane, undivided road that passes through farmland, forested hills, and small residential communities. Traveling eastward from its junction with PA 75, the highway crosses a series of ridges and valleys typical of the Ridge-and-Valley Appalachians, then descends toward the Susquehanna River corridor where it reaches Duncannon. Near its eastern terminus it connects with the US 11/US 15 north–south route that follows the river.
