Overview
Osceola County is a county located in the U.S. state of Florida, in the central portion of the peninsula. Its county seat and largest city is Kissimmee. Traditionally a crossroads between Orlando and the ranchlands to the south, Osceola has seen substantial population and economic growth since the late 20th century. As a historical reference point, the county had about 172,493 residents recorded in the 2000 census.

Osceola County occupies low, mostly flat terrain typical of central Florida. The county is named for the Seminole leader Osceola.
