Oleg Vidov

Early life and Soviet career

Vidov was born in Filimonki, then part of the Russian SFSR in the Soviet Union. He trained as an actor and became known in Soviet film and theatre during the 1960s and 1970s, performing a range of roles from historical figures to contemporary leads. His work in domestic cinema established him as a recognisable screen presence and opened opportunities for collaborations beyond the Soviet film industry.
