The defining feature of the DSi XL is its pair of oversized LCD screens, which are significantly larger and brighter than those on previous DS models. It retains the DS line's dual-screen and touchscreen configuration, a built-in pair of cameras (one outward, one inward), and an SD card slot for media and downloadable content. To achieve a thinner profile with larger displays, Nintendo removed the Game Boy Advance cartridge slot—a change shared with the DSi family—so the DSi XL cannot play GBA cartridges (Game Boy Advance).
