Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V for short) is an action-adventure video game that was made and released by Rockstar Games. It is the fifteenth game in the Grand Theft Auto video game series.
The game was released worldwide on 17 September 2013 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. In October 2013, an online multiplayer was released for the game, called Grand Theft Auto Online. In 2014, Rockstar Games released Grand Theft Auto V for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. In 2015, the game was released for Microsoft Windows. In 2022, versions were released for the Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.
The game has sold close to 170 million copies, making it the second best-selling video game of all time, behind Minecraft.
Development of Grand Theft Auto VI was confirmed in 2022.
