Goumoens-la-Ville — former municipality in the canton of Vaud, Switzerland

Geography and character

The area sits on the fertile Jura foothill plateau north of the Lake Geneva basin. Fields, pastures and small woodlands surround the village, which historically relied on mixed farming. On 1 July 2011 the former municipalities of Eclagnens, Goumoens-la-Ville and Goumoens-le-Jux united to create a single municipality now known as Goumoëns.
