František Čuba: Czech agronomist who led Slušovice and served in the Senate

Early life and professional background

Trained in agricultural sciences, Čuba rose through the ranks of state-run agricultural organizations in the former Czechoslovakia. He became associated with the collective farm (JZD) in Slušovice, where his approach combined agronomy with managerial and commercial methods that differed from many contemporaneous farms.

Under Čuba's leadership, the cooperative at Slušovice expanded beyond traditional farming. Its activities included food processing, light industry, services and use of modern management techniques.
