FM Static

FM Static is a Christian pop rock band from Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Background

The band is a side project of Thousand Foot Krutch frontman Trevor McNevan and drummer Steve Augustine. They released their first album (What are you waiting for? ), which has since sold over 60,000 copies, in 2003 on the Christian label Tooth & Nail Records. They followed up with their second album, Critically Ashamed, on August 1, 2006. Former members of the band were brothers Justin (bass) and Jeremy Smith (guitar) and John Bunner (guitar), who left after the first few shows. Because the Smith brothers also stopped playing after the second album, they did not tour with Critically Ashamed. FM Static were nominated for the GMA Canada Covenant Awards and are also featured on one of their compilations with their song Crazy Mary. On the fifth of April 2011, the band will release their fourth studio album My Brain Says Stop, but My Heart Says Go! from which 2 songs are already known. In advance, the band had already put the complete album as a stream on the Internet. Prerequisite for this, however, was the agreement to receive a newsletter via e-mail and to post advertising with a Twitter account.
