El Ciudad Dorado (Spanish for "The Golden City"), otherwise referred to as simply El Dorado ("The Golden One"), is a mythical city from South America. A story of the same name first referred to a man or a king named "El Hombre Dorado" ("The Golden Man") or "El Rey Dorado" ("The Golden King"). Later, it was used for a city, and in the end, for a whole country. When the Spanish came to South America, they were greedy, and tried to find El Dorado.
