David Ashby — British motorcycle speedway rider (1949–2015)

Racing career

Ashby rode for the Swindon Robins from 1972 until 1978, making 151 appearances for the club. He also competed for the Peterborough Panthers and the Milton Keynes Knights before retiring from competitive racing in 1979. He died on 16 September 2015 in Swindon, Wiltshire, aged 65, after a battle with cancer.
