Dave Creighton

Playing career

Creighton began his major-league career in 1948, making his debut in the National Hockey League with the Boston Bruins. Over the following decade he played for several NHL clubs, including the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Chicago Black Hawks, and the New York Rangers. His time in the NHL concluded following the 1960 season, after which he continued to play professionally at the minor-league level.

Minor leagues and transition

After departing the NHL, Creighton extended his career in the AHL for several seasons, where veteran players often combined on-ice duties with mentoring younger teammates. He remained active on the ice until the end of the 1969 season, demonstrating the longevity and adaptability that marked much of his playing life.

Coaching and later life

Following retirement as a player, Creighton moved into coaching. He served as head coach of the Providence Reds for the 1969–1970 season, guiding players in the same professional system where he had recently competed.
