Geography and parts

The province is composed of five counties: Galway, Mayo, Sligo, Roscommon and Leitrim. Its landscape ranges from rugged Atlantic coastline, islands and peninsulas to bogs, lakes and uplands. History

Connacht has deep Gaelic roots and takes its name from the medieval ruling dynasty known as the Connachta.
