Albagiara (local name: Ollàsta) is a small municipality on the island of Sardinia. It functions as both a town and an administrative comune within the Province of Oristano, in the region of Sardinia, Italy.

Geography

The territory of Albagiara covers 8.87 km². The built-up area and surrounding land sit at an average elevation of about 215 metres above sea level. The comune is located inland from Sardinia’s western coast, within the provincial boundaries of Oristano.

Population

According to figures from 2016, Albagiara had a population of 263 residents. The settlement is one of the smaller municipalities in the province by number of inhabitants.

Administration and identity

As an Italian comune, Albagiara has its own local council and mayor responsible for municipal services and regulations. The town preserves a distinct local identity reflected in its Sardinian name, Ollàsta.
