Career beginnings and development

Christophe achieved early success with the sentimental hit "Aline", which brought him widespread recognition in the early 1960s. He expanded his role in the music industry beyond performing: in 1971 he joined with producer Francis Dreyfus to create the Motors record label (Disques Motors), giving him a platform to produce and release his own work and to support other artists.
