Design and variants

Derived from the commercial A310 platform and related to the Airbus A310 MRTT family, the CC-150 fleet includes both passenger-configured and tanker-capable examples. Modifications for military service typically involve reinforced floors, military communications and avionics, pallet-handling provisions, and add-on refuelling pods or plumbing for hose-and-drogue refuelling when required. In Canadian service the tanker-upgraded aircraft are often identified with an additional type suffix.

Operational history

The Polaris entered Canadian service after acquisition of the A310 airframe family to replace older strategic transport types. Notable facts and distinctions
