Bloomberg L.P. is a privately held financial, software, data, and media company. It is headquartered in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. It was founded by Michael Bloomberg in 1981 along with a 12% ownership investment by Merrill Lynch. The company has become very big and made Michael Bloomberg wealthy, but many employees, especially women, felt that it was a very difficult company to work for.
