Aerospace Valley — France’s aeronautics and space cluster in southwest France

Scope and composition

The grouping includes more than 500 member organizations: major manufacturers, thousands of small and medium suppliers, maintenance and overhaul providers, as well as university laboratories and technology centres. Its membership spans engineering consultancies and applied research units (engineering companies and research centres) and large industrial names such as Airbus and national aerospace firms. Several maintenance and service organisations also play a prominent role, for example Air France Industries. Together these actors support a broad industrial ecosystem.

People and activity

Aerospace Valley concentrates a substantial skilled workforce: roughly 120,000 people are employed across the cluster in manufacturing, R&D, operations and services within the broader aviation and space flight industries. Activities range from airframe and engine design to satellite systems, avionics, simulation and test facilities.
