The municipal area comprises the town of Temerin and the settlements of Bački Jarak, Sirig and Kamendin. Historically and geographically it belongs to the Pannonian Plain and lies in a region characterized by fertile agricultural land and close ties to the regional centre of Novi Sad.
Settlements and administration

Local government handles common municipal services, planning and cultural activities for all constituent villages. The close proximity of larger urban centres affects commuting patterns and local development.
Geography and economy
Temerin sits on flat lowlands typical of Vojvodina, where agriculture has long been the backbone of the economy. Grain, vegetable growing and animal husbandry remain important, alongside light industry, trade and service businesses. Many residents also work in nearby cities, combining rural livelihoods with urban employment. Infrastructure links are oriented toward regional roads and rail connections that tie the municipality into the wider South Bačka area.
History and cultural background
The locality has medieval roots and experienced successive periods of Ottoman and Habsburg administration, common to much of Vojvodina. These historical layers influenced land ownership, settlement patterns and cultural life. Today Temerin reflects a Central European and Balkan mix in architecture, religious sites and local traditions.
