Sint-Gillis-Waas is a municipality in the Belgian province of East Flanders, located in the historic Waasland region. It lies at about 51°13′N, 4°07′E and combines rural landscapes with small urban centres. The municipality is Dutch-speaking and forms part of the broader economic and cultural area between Ghent and Antwerp.

The territory includes several population centres, notably Sint-Gillis-Waas proper and De Klinge, and sits relatively near the national border with the Netherlands. In 2007 the municipality recorded 18,164 inhabitants, and like many towns in the region its population patterns reflect a mix of local employment and commuting to larger nearby cities.
