Overview
Sargans is a municipality in Sarganserland in the canton of St. Gallen of Switzerland. It lies in eastern Switzerland near the approaches to the Alps and close to the borders with Liechtenstein and Austria. As of December 2016 the population was recorded at 6,063. The town functions as a local service centre for surrounding villages and rural communities.
