Design and platform

The 307 rode on a platform developed within the PSA Group and was closely related to other models; the underpinnings were shared with the Citroën C4 among others. Styling moved away from the compact, rounded lines of the 306 toward a taller, more upright silhouette that prioritized passenger room and headroom. A mid-cycle facelift in 2005 refreshed bumpers, lights and interior details.

Peugeot offered the 307 in a variety of configurations to suit different customer needs. Main versions included:

• 3- and 5-door hatchbacks — the core of the range from launch in 2001.
