Milan Moguš (27 April 1927 – 19 November 2017) was a prominent Croatian linguist and scholar. Born in Senj when the region formed part of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, he studied at the University of Zagreb and built a long academic career focused on the history and structure of the Croatian language. He served as chairman of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts from 1 January 2004 until 11 November 2010 and remained an influential figure in Croatian public and intellectual life until his death in Zagreb, where he died of coronary artery disease at the age of 90.
